Birthday Party- FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Thank you for choosing Studio on the Common for your Birthday Party.
We look forward to hosting your event. We are often asked about food, decorations, the planning process, billing etc. Here’s everything you need to know prior to your party…
The Space
The Studio is simply decorated and has a giant white wall for the kids to draw on. You are welcome to bring any additional decorations (latex free balloons only please!) you might want though many find the room great as is! Tables, chairs, art supplies will be ready to go. We will have a table with a tablecloth for food and a place for gifts as well.
Food
You can bring in any food you want as long as it is nut free (peanut and tree nut). Not every party chooses to serve food! Some just bring snacks and cupcakes - it is up to you! If you are serving food, please bring your own plates, utensils, cups, napkins, candles – whatever you need to serve food. When booking, please let the coordinator know that you are planning on serving food - so they can allow time for the art project, cleaning up, and eating.
How do I choose a painting/project?
First, take a look at our birthday party page and scroll through our gallery! If you want to explore more options - reach out to our birthday party coordinator Daniela via email. Be sure to include the age of your child and their interests (like mermaids, superheroes, rainbows, fairies, etc.) and Daniela will reply with pictures of our most popular projects! We also offer custom paintings and projects for a $30 additional charge.
What’s the minimum age for a birthday party?
We offer parties for ages 4 and up!
Do you offer Pottery or Slime Parties?
Unfortunately we do not offer pottery parties of any kind - wheel throwing or pottery painting. We encourage you to sign up for a class to experience the fun that is pottery. We also do not offer slime making parties. We have a huge list of party ideas to choose from! From painting, to crafting, to tie dye, to weaving - we’re sure your party will be tons of fun no matter the activity you choose!
Can Parents Stay?
Our studio is a modest size, especially with gifts and food and decorations! We can accommodate up to 20 people in the room - that includes guests and adults.
Parking
Where can we park? - For parents dropping off, we have street parking in front of our art studio (which is at the corner of Church Street and Waterfield Road). For the birthday party parents, we recommend that you park in the Waterfield Road Public Parking Lot, which is free to park at all day on weekends. This lot is located behind our studio; the entrance to this lot is next to D’agostino's Deli.
Where is the Birthday Party entrance?
Our Art Studio is located on the corner of Church Street and Waterfield Road in Winchester. The address to Studio on the Common is 22 Church Street, Winchester, MA. Our birthday party entrance is the side entrance; first door on Waterfield Road (3 Waterfield Road). It has a sign that says “Birthday Party Guests Enter Here” - you can’t miss it!
When can I arrive?
The room will be ready 15 minutes before the party for you to bring in whatever you like and at the end you can leave the cleanup to us!
Billing
This payment of $150 is a non-refundable deposit to hold your space for the party. Full cost is $395 for up to 10 attendees and $15/additional child to be settled the day of the party.
Inclement Weather Policy
We reserve right to cancel birthday parties due to inclement weather. Of course, we want everyone to be safe and understand that sometimes the weather forecast prevents us from holding events in the studio. In the event of cancelation due to inclement weather, we will work with you to reschedule the party. If we are unable to reschedule for a date that meets your needs, we will refund the deposit in full.
